Hello. I am Gerhard Nelson, Instructor and Advisor for the Department of BES-Vakt (FES-Guard), and it is my pleasure to open this Confined Space Course for you. It is the first designed and published e-learning program with this topic on the Scandinavian market.
I hope you are well rested, because today you will receive a lot of input, which in turn can save a life. After completing this course, you will be given permission to work in a confined space and to monitor this work as an entrance guard. In connection with the Scandinavian Hot Work certificate, you will be authorized to work as a BES-Vakt (FES-Guard).
The Norwegian Fire Protection Association collaborates across borders and certificates issued in Sweden, Denmark and Finland are valid in Norway and other vice. According to the current Norwegian regulations, you only have to renew your Hot Work certificate every 5 years.
The Confined Space part does not have an expiry date. For now, but this can change in the future. However, based on industry best practice guidelines, the recommended renewal period for this training is 2 years. It is advisable to refresh your knowledge if, for example, you have been out of work for too long.

In this Confined Space program, you will only receive a basic level of knowledge. Because you learn the most of it out in the field. You will find out that every day at work is a Monday with new challenges, tasks and duties. It can be different every time, the weather, the tank, the workers, the mood and so on.

Course Curriculum
If you want to work in the Norwegian oil and gas sector, you need the relevant recognized courses with certified attendance. NSTS, is a registered company in Norway and has received approval for this course from the Labor Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet). Numerous recognized companies and shipyards have already recognized this training and allowed their workers to take part in it. Wise and caring decision.

A teacher and instructor also plays an important role - Many of the want-to-be teachers are just theorist and know nothing about our practical work in the oil and gas industry.
